Oh ! New Stampin' Up! Stamp set

Well...what a hot day it is ! But I'm not complaining. I will sweat...errr...perspire, with good grace, and enjoy every minute of this glorious sunshine. There'll be plenty of time to complain during winter.

I have had so much fun this afternoon. I placed a small order with Stampin' Up! a few days ago, and it arrived this morning. I couldn't wait to tear it open. I think I'm worse than the grandkids at Christmas time !!! So, I have had the last hour to make a couple of cards using one of the new stamp sets - Bloomin' with Beauty. Isn't it lovely ? I am thrilled with it. Here's my card - a very simple one for me - but I think the stamp calls for simple. It is so detailed it doesn't need a lot of embellishment.

My base cardstock is Bashful Blue - from the Soft Subtles collection. I tore a piece of Sage Shadow, used brads on 3 corners, and attached it to the base card with tape. I stamped the images on Whisper White, coloured them with copics and markers, cut them out and mounted them on dimensionals. I stamped the hydrangea twice, and decoupaged a bit on top - you can't really see that in the photo. There is a similar card in the UK catalogue, and I loosely based my card on that.

Look at this little bee ! So beautiful. I am going to find a lot of use for him as I love stamping flowers. And what's a flower without a little bee ?

 I had to take a photo of the set. It is gorgeous. Am I going on a bit ? I suppose I am. But I am in love with this set. I'll be making some more cards with it tomorrow to add to my display board.

I really feel like making a few more cards this evening - but it is so hot. I might just sit in the shade and sip my Coke.
