My ideal Christmas would definitely be a vintage Christmas. I really love old fashioned Christmas decorations and decor(I can hear my children saying yuck!). I love all the old pictures of Victorian families celebrating Christmas. You know...the Dickensian images of Christmas carollers, huge trees, lots of snow, a roaring fire and turkey on the table etc. etc. I think I must be stuck in a time warp lol. My decorations for the last few years have consisted of a small tree (artificial - haven't even got the scent of real pine), a dressed mantelpiece (lots of old fashioned figures), and a few garlands around the fireplace ! Mind you, having a small cottage doesn't help.
But...this year, I'm planning on changing all that. I want a really old-fashioned feel to the decorations, and started planning this months ago. I've been buying up vintage decorations in the charity shops and wherever I see them. I've got quite a collection. I'm really looking forward to decorating this year, and I'll make sure to take plenty of photos for the blog.
I think I was feeling very vintagey (is that a word ?) when I made this card earlier. The base card is Kraft. I stamped it with clear Versamark, and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I had fun creating and colouring the main image. Not everyone's cup of tea - but definitely mine.
Thanks for looking. Don't forget to leave a comment - it feels great when someone takes the time to say hello !
